How great it was to be back after almost two years of the global pandemic. I was restless. I had still made the most of my time in Russia because an institution was sponsoring and documenting travels all over the country, similar to ethnographic expeditions. Russia is huge so we’d go all over talking to locals, learning the history and culture, exploring architecture. When the war started, this changed everything.
